Cedar Court Hotel Shortlisted for Leeds Hotels & Venues Association Awards
Heather Whitfield, Conference Manager at Cedar Court Hotel in Wakefield has been shortlisted for the Rising Star Award for this year’s prestigious Leeds Hotels & Venues Association Awards (LHVA). In addition to this the Bars Team at the hotel have also been shortlisted for the Top Team Award. The awards ceremony takes places at the Marriott Hotel in Leeds on Thursday 16th June 2011.
Heather has been recognized for the award for her ability to work in many different roles, from housekeeping to Duty Management roles, Heather can do it all. She started her career with Cedar Court seven years ago at the Wakefield Hotel as a receptionist and soon excelled in her role to become Head Receptionist. After a few years Heather relocated to the conference office and soon became Conference Office Manager – all this at the young age of just 25.
The bars team have exceeded all expectations over the past twelve months, they have delivered excellent customer care and really applied themselves and shown themselves to be a top team.
This team has it all, they are welcoming and friendly, helpful and efficient and extremely hard working. Added to this they all get along with each other, work well together, support each other and assist other departments when necessary. The bars have achieved this through motivational team meetings and pre-event briefings, staff were made aware of their objectives, encouraged and incentivised.

The Leeds Hotels & Venues Association Awards recognise the talent, dedication and commitment to excellence of the city’s hotel employees. It brings those who usually do the serving, pampering and looking after to the front of the stage at a celebratory dinner.
