Seven staff at the Cedar Court Hotel Leeds - Bradford are celebrating after successfully completing NVQs.

Four employees, Andrea Moorhouse, Darci Cooper, Leah Jeffries and Rosemary Nash have gained an NVQ level 2 in Customer Service. Andrea has studied hard this year and through her commitment also achieved a level 2 NVQ in Business and Administration. Her hard work and dedication has seen her nominated for the prestigious Learner of the Year Award. Rachel Storey and Christopher Grunwell have each achieved an NVQ level 2 in Team Leading all through Enterprise Solutions Training Ltd in Huddersfield.
Studies were facilitated by the "Train to Gain" Government initiative, which offers fully funded training to employees aged 19-plus with qualifications below the equivalent of NVQ 2 or five GCSEs at A-C.
Training was done in the workplace. Assessment was by external examiner and candidates were also required to provide evidence of their competence and testimonies from their supervisors.
Pam Sandwith, Deputy General Manager said: "We are very proud of the achievement of all the employees who have completed their NVQs.
"It has shown their loyalty to the company and commitment from both parties to their studies. We have several other employees currently undertaking a variety of NVQs and I am sure that they will have the same success.”
