Chefs make it for charity – Congratulations !!!!!
Head Chef, Gary Armitage and Banqueting Chef Paul Holinski took to the streets of London on Sunday 27th April 2009 to run the Flora London Marathon. After months of training the pair crossed the start line in Greenwich Park to the cheers of supporters. Just over 5 hours later the duo arrived at the finishing line in 'The Mall' exhausted but very very proud and talking about entering again next year!!! So much so Gary is currently in training for the Bupa Great North Run in Newcastle.
Not to be outdone, Peter Bartle, Demi Chef De Partie has just completed a sponsored swim of Lake Windermere, also for charity. The lake which is 67 meters deep and 10.5 miles (17km) long and the longest in the United Kingdom, again a challenge brilliantly completed.
General Manager, Mr Nick Testa said “These three chefs have shown outstanding commitment to their challenges and their charities and I applaud them all on their individual success. They are a credit to the team and to themselves.”
