Cedar Court Hotel Leeds/Bradford and FC Halifax Town are a winning team
22 August 2011
FC Halifax Town has teamed up with Cedar Court Hotel Leeds/Bradford, becoming a partner of one of the north’s most conveniently located hotels.
The formal partnership will allow FC Halifax Town - nicknamed The Shaymen - to align itself with a major regional brand and forge closer links with the local community in general. Cedar Court, on the other hand, can now lay claim to having a high profile up-and-coming sports club with a national fanbase as a supporter and advocate of its services and offerings.
Cedar Court Hotel Leeds/Bradford and FC Halifax Town have already enjoyed a good working relationship. The Shaymen hold two dinners - including the player of the year awards dinner - at the hotel each year, and Cedar Court Hotel regularly advertise on the ground boards at The Shay - Halifax Town’s famous old ground - and in the annual team calendar.
Cedar Court Hotel Leeds/Bradford General Manager Simon Cotton said: “We’re delighted to be able to enter into what we hope will be a long-term relationship with such a key component of the local community and town.
“Like Cedar Court, FC Halifax Town is ambitious to move on to bigger and better things, and is well on the way to doing so. We can look forward to working together closely to achieve our respective goals.
“The partnership will of course also give us inroads to networking with other local businesses and working towards similar partnerships.”
FC Halifax Town currently play in the Blue Square North, having enjoyed successive promotions in the last two seasons. It is hoped that the club will secure promotion to the Football League in the near future.
The Cedar Court Hotel Leeds/Bradford property is so called because of its proximity to both of these vibrant West Yorkshire cities. It has its ‘own’ motorway, the M606, which brings guests right to our doorstep from the M62, and is less than 20 minutes from the centre of Leeds – a quicker journey than you will experience from many Leeds hotels.
It’s also one of the largest, AA 4-star independent and purpose-built conference and banqueting venues in the north. It has a big reputation for large scale conferences, annual general meetings, events, exhibitions and dinner dances.
