Cedar Court Hotel Leeds - Bradford has been awarded the National Work Experience Quality Standard for Employers by Education Bradford’s Education Business Partnership.
The award recognizes those organisations that take their student supervision responsibilities seriously and can offer a quality placement experience. Students completing their experience in approved companies can expect a planned programme with agreed learning outcomes and honest feedback.
The certificate was presented by Lindsey Johnson, Partnership Officer at the EBP to HR Manager Jane Brierley.
Jane said “we make sure the students are made to feel part of the team but we expect them to make a positive contribution in return. Their placement allows them to practice and develop their customer service skills and we see them develop in confidence and maturity. It is also important for us to put something back into our local community; work experience is an ideal way to promote what we do.”
Lindsey Johnson said:” Work Experience is a valuable development opportunity for our young people. Jobs in the hospitality sector have traditionally been seen as low-paid and low skilled. Students placed with Jane and the team can see for themselves that there are many well-paid and rewarding careers available providing they possess the right qualities and skills.”
