In July 2012 a Summer Ball was held in Halifax, arranged at short notice by local businessman Dave Molloy in tribute to the 6 fallen soldiers from the Yorkshire regiment tragically killed in action in March in Afghanistan.

Last year the Ball was a tremendous success with over 230 people from all walks of life in attendance to enjoy a 4 course meal, compere, comedian and great music from both the band and DJ, the guest of honour was Corporal Simon Brown who was shot in the face in Iraq resulting in near death and subsequent loss of vision, Simon is now an ambassador for the Help for Heroes charity and we were very lucky to have such an inspirational person attend the function. The event raised nearly £13,000 for the charity with many local businesses in attendance or offering prizes/donations for the raffle and auction.

Such was the support and success of the event that Dave has been persuaded to make the event an annual ball as long as it continues to be so well received, with this in mind a date has now been confirmed for the 2nd Halifax Help for Heroes Summer Ball to be held on the Halifax/Huddersfield border at the larger prestigious Cedar Court Hotel on Saturday 22 June 2013.

Once again the fantastic entertainment will consist of a compere, magician, Comedian, fantastic band with local company Eventsline supplying one of their premium DJ’s to end the night in style.

The aim of the 2013 Event is to surpass the fantastic achievement of 2012 and raise upwards of £15000.

We are hoping to receive many enquires from Huddersfield based people who would like attend this event and show their support, certainly after the tragedy of local men Thomas Wroe and Anthony Frampton, we would also appreciate any offers of event sponsorship or donations from local business.

Reservations for the event which have just gone on sale are priced at £40 per person or table of 12 at £480, places are already selling very quickly to previous guests and Mr Molloy fully expects the event to sell all 330 places.
